Chapter 1: Sunshine Forest — Complete Walkthrough

Chapter Overview

Sunshine Forest is the first major area in Pikuniku 2. Here, you'll guide Piku through lush greenery, solve quirky puzzles, and interact with the forest's friendly residents.

The main objective of this chapter is to expose Mr. Sunshine's true intentions behind his seemingly helpful facade, while helping the forest residents with their troubles along the way.

Before You Begin

Before entering Sunshine Forest, make sure you have:

• Completed all tutorial sections in the starter area
• Mastered basic movement, jumping, and kicking mechanics
• Talked to every NPC in the village to pick up initial quests

Pro tip: Don't skip the dialogue! Pikuniku's story and humor are a huge part of the experience.

Area 1: Entrance Trail

After entering Sunshine Forest, follow the main path forward. You'll encounter these key points:

1. Broken Bridge Puzzle — Find three wooden planks scattered nearby to repair the bridge. Planks are hidden behind bushes along the riverbank.

2. Squirrel NPC — This squirrel gives you a side quest: collect 5 scattered acorns. Completing it rewards a Heart Fragment collectible.

3. Secret Tree Hollow — Below the first bridge, at the base of the tree roots, there's a hidden passage leading to a secret room containing a Gold Star.

Area 2: Flower Valley

Past the Entrance Trail, you'll reach a colorful flower field. The core puzzle here is the Flower Sequencing Puzzle:

• Step on flower platforms in the order: Red → Yellow → Blue → Green
• Each flower plays a different tone when stepped on correctly
• Once all are correct, a door to a hidden cave opens

Hidden Collectibles

Flower Valley contains 3 hidden collectibles:

• Rainbow Petal — Located above the highest platform; use the bounce flower to reach it
• Bee Friend Medal — Help the lost bumblebee find its way back to the hive
• Ancient Diary Page — Tucked behind the waterfall in a rocky crevice

Area 3: Mr. Sunshine's Plaza

Deep in the forest, you'll arrive at Mr. Sunshine's central plaza. There's an important story sequence here:

Mr. Sunshine invites Piku to his "Friendship Party," claiming he wants to help all forest residents. But by talking to different NPCs, you'll discover inconsistencies — some residents seem... off after receiving his "help."

Key Choice

In this area, you face a decision:

• Confront Mr. Sunshine directly — Requires collecting at least 3 pieces of evidence
• Sneak backstage — Take a hidden path behind the plaza to reach the backstage area

Both choices lead to the same Boss fight but offer different dialogue and achievements.

Boss Fight: Rogue Robot

After exposing Mr. Sunshine's plan, you'll battle his giant robot.

Phase 1

The robot walks back and forth across the arena, occasionally jumping to create shockwaves. Strategy:

• Jump to dodge shockwaves
• Kick the robot's leg joints (glowing red spots) when it pauses
• Repeat 3 times to enter Phase 2

Phase 2

The robot starts using arm sweep attacks. Strategy:

• Crouch to dodge the sweep
• Wait for the arm to rest at the arena edge, then jump on it
• Kick the button on the robot's head
• Repeat 2 times to win

After the Boss fight, don't forget to talk to all NPCs in the plaza — they'll give you new quest leads and collectibles!

Chapter Completion Rewards

Completing Sunshine Forest unlocks:

• Story Progress — Unlocks the next chapter: Crystal Caves
• Special Hat — Piku's Adventurer Hat (equippable from the character menu)
• Achievements — "Forest Guardian" (complete main story), "Curiosity King" (find all secret rooms)
